A look back at 2020!
As we move towards 2021 and look back at 2020, this year has been like no other. With a global pandemic, Brexit and an American election the world has had a busy year; we have celebrated lots of exciting changes at Muddy Boots too.
Our TELUS family grew
Back in April we were very excited to become part of the TELUS family, a world-leading communications and information technology company. The acquisition provided us with the support of a global leader in communications and digital technologies, enabling Muddy Boots to grow in key markets, such as North America and Asia Pacific, and to accelerate the development of its digital supply chain solutions.
Further to this, in November we became founding members; along with seven other companies of a global leader in Ag-Tech, TELUS Agriculture. Making a commitment to everyone in the Agri-Business, Agri-Food, consumer goods and retail value chain, to create a better flow of information across the food system.
Valuing your feedback
We are very proud of our ‘User Voice’ forum and over the past year we have listened to your feedback to make improvements to our platforms. One of our most requested improvements (over 120 votes) was a suggestion for the ability to keep track of chemical stocks within our Greenlight Grower Management (GLGM) app. Our new stocks feature allows visibility of your ag-chem inventory without physically visiting the store, easy to access tracking of stocks activity and the ability to order what you need from your agronomist recommendations, whilst reducing the amount of money tied up in unused chemicals between seasons.
Other exciting new features added to our platforms included multiple contacts for each site in GLGM. Very useful if you need to keep track of people who you may need to call or email, but they don’t have a GLGM account.
In response to the Coronavirus pandemic we also introduced the ‘Covid-19 Inspections Solution’ within our Greenlight Quality Management platform. This has been successfully used within UK retail to ensure sites adhere to social distancing rules, good sanitation practices and the wearing of appropriate PPE.
Supporting sustainability
Our mission at Muddy Boots is to help create a safer more sustainable future for food and farming. With this in mind, we were delighted to have joined the Cool Farm Alliance (CFA) earlier in the year. Our sustainability offering will see sustainability evaluations embedded in our Greenlight Supplier Management (GLSM) and GLGM platforms, allowing our customers to measure GHG emission of their supply chain, of their supplied products or of their growing systems. Membership of the CFA represents a significant step forward in how we can support food businesses and farmers in improving the sustainability of their supply chain, supplied food products or farming practices.

#Farm24
We had a fantastic day supporting the Farmers Guardian #Farm24 event back in August. We pride ourselves on supporting farmers and growers everyday. It was great to see so many people getting involved, sharing their stories and pictures from their wonderful British farms.
