24 Hours in Farming is the UK’s biggest digital event in agriculture, with an audience reach of more than 112 million. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the passion and commitment it takes to produce the food that we eat.
Founded in 2015, each year thousands of farmers across the UK flood social media as part of #farm24 to educate the general public on what a typical day in farming looks like. Sponsored by Morrisons and championed by Farmers Guardian, British farmers are encouraged to post pictures, videos and text to show and explain the work they are doing that day.
“The aim is to show consumers the vast extent of the effort and care which goes into producing the food they eat.” Morrisons
Farmers and supporters can post on any platform using the hashtag #Farm24 and are encouraged to post numerous times over the 24 hours to promote the huge variety of roles and responsibilities British farming has. The flagship campaign is also an opportunity to reinforce farming's role as custodians of the countryside and the environment.
At Muddy Boots by TELUS Agriculture, we have a long-running and deep connection with British Farmers. We began over 25 years ago developing software that enabled growers and agronomists to manage their farms out in the field. Many of our staff are agronomists and farmers by trade and have a personal understanding of the effort and care which goes into producing the food that we eat. That’s why we developed our Farm Management solution to enable better data visibility and sharing, saving farmers and agronomists time.
Our Product Lead for our Farm Management solution, Sarah Alexander says;
“My husband and I both work in the sector, and many of our friends and family are involved in the countryside or farming. So, in part, it's what I live and breathe but also I enjoy the people, understanding the challenges of a farming business, new technology, keeping up with legislation and farming news.”
Everyone working in the agricultural industry is being asked to throw their support behind the campaign and be proud of working for one of the most important industries in the UK and beyond. Get your free pledge pack from Farmers Guardian today, and join us in backing British farmers.
