Herefordshire, HR8 9XU
Name: Becky Brown
Job Role: Customer Engagement Administrator
Length of service: 7 months
What attracted you to Muddy Boots: The people and the culture - everyone was so welcoming even at the interview stages. It was something completely different and I was ready for a bit of a change. It seemed a good fit and something new.
Tell us a bit about you and your work history?: I have always worked in the hospitality industry, from pubs to hotels and then to events management, which I studied at Cardiff Met. Working with big corporate clients with their week/month long conferences, to running weddings pretty much every weekend. It is an industry I have loved being part of and still get involved with from time to time.
What does a typical working day look like?: My typical day consists of a lot of emails! My team is very close, so my colleague Emma and I go through our tasks for each of our retail schemes. We help the suppliers with using our system to upload all documentation to ensure they are compliant with each retailer. We also work closely with the on-boarding of new farm customers and ensure they have all the resources they need. We run customer demos and webinars throughout the year as well.
Interesting fact about you?: I was a ballerina from the age of 4 until 18.
Ideal dinner party guest?: I am going for a few guests here: Beyoncé, David Attenborough and Chris & Rosie Ramsey. Why..? Well why not..!? Would be a very interesting party.
Favourite food?: All food!
What makes you passionate about food / farming?: I am a real foodie and I love eating out and trying new things. With my previous roles always being in the hospitality industry, it is now nice to see the other side of the food industry. Also, I have always lived in the countryside with many of my friends living on farms, so it is something I have grown up around.
Any skills or talents that people don’t know about?: I am fully helium balloon trained.. from making balloon arches to life size balloon animals.
What advice do you wish you’d been given early in your career?: To be confident in myself, it has taken a while for me to be as confident as I am now and to back myself in my work.
Finish this sentence: on Sunday mornings you usually find me……having a well deserved lie in and of course having a roast dinner!
What’s one item you can’t leave your house or apartment without?: My phone, glasses and lip balm.
Describe yourself in three words: loud, out-going and very short.
What publications do you regularly read or what book are you reading now?: I am currently reading You Deserve Better by Anne Marie - as everyone needs a bit of self-care.
